My name is Alisa Ellis. My husband and I have lived in Heber City for the last 14 years. We love it here! It is such a great place to raise our 7 children.
I’m technically a high school drop out because I skipped my senior year of high school and began attending BYU at barely 17. I graduated from BYU with a BS in Family Science with an emphasis in Human Development. I value alternative/individual education plans because of this important decision in my life. It was the perfect plan for me.
I have been an activist in education for the last 4 years. I have traveled the state speaking about education policy. I served on the state of Utah’s science review committee.
I sometimes get asked what qualifies me to speak about education policy. My answer is always emphatically, “Because I’m a mom to 7 kids who cares about their education.” It is my responsibility to raise, educate and guide my children.
I am active in the community, active in my faith and recently served as a Service Project Leader for BYU’s Women’s Conference.
